1. Who we are

Fund My Community (“FMC”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Fund My Community Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. Our registered office and company number will be published on this page once registration is complete. You can contact us at damien@fundmycommunity.co.uk.

2. What FMC is, and what it is not

FMC is a technology platform. We help UK community organisations identify grant funders whose criteria appear to match a centre’s project, and we connect those organisations with vetted contractors who can deliver the funded work.

FMC is not a regulated financial services firm.

  • We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
  • We do not arrange, advise on, or broker any form of regulated finance, including loans, credit, investments, or insurance.
  • We do not carry on any regulated activity under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA).
  • We do not hold client money. Grant funding flows directly from funder to community organisation, and contractor payments flow directly between the parties to those contracts.
  • Nothing on this site is financial, legal, or tax advice.

Grants are not regulated credit, so introducing community organisations to grant funders is not a regulated activity. If the regulatory perimeter ever changes such that any FMC service would require authorisation, we will not provide that service until we are properly authorised.

3. Funder matches

Community Gold, our funder matching tool, produces a suggested list of grant programmes based on the information you provide and our internal database of funders. The list is a starting point for your own research. We do not guarantee that any listed funder will accept your application, that your application will succeed, or that the eligibility criteria, deadlines, or contact details are current at the moment you read them. You remain responsible for verifying eligibility before applying and for the contents of any application you submit.

4. Contractors

Contractors listed on FMC are vetted at the point of admission to the pool. Vetting includes references and verification of public liability insurance. Vetting is not a guarantee of workmanship, fitness for a particular project, or ongoing insurance cover. Any contract for works is between the community organisation and the contractor directly. FMC is not a party to that contract and has no liability for its performance.

Use of FMC-approved contractors

Where FMC has secured funding for a project, or is delivering a project on your behalf, you agree to engage only FMC-approved contractors for the works that the funding pays for. This is because FMC’s pool is vetted for insurance, references and competence; FMC carries accountability for the delivery the funder relies on; and funder reporting, warranty assurance and dispute resolution are cleaner when the contractor is known to FMC.

If no suitable FMC-approved contractor is available for a particular trade or scope, FMC will confirm this in writing and may approve the use of a non-approved contractor for that scope, subject to FMC’s prior written consent (which will not be unreasonably withheld). For works outside the funded scope (for example, unrelated maintenance or improvements at the centre), you are free to engage any contractor of your choice.

5. Your responsibilities

When you use FMC you agree to provide accurate information about your organisation and project, to use the service for the purposes for which it is intended, and not to misuse the platform (including no scraping, no attempts to defeat access controls, and no submission of unlawful content).

6. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, FMC is provided on an “as is” basis. We do not accept liability for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of goodwill, or loss of opportunity arising from your use of the service or reliance on information generated by it. Our aggregate liability to any user is limited to £100.

7. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
